The Centennial Quilt Project was begun, slated to be finished and presented to OCHS at the Centennial Reception on October 18, 2002.

September 2002

Our inaugural Tour of Historic Barns was held. This was created to be held biannually in alternate years from our very successful Tour of Homes.

November 2002

On November 7 we were honored to have Lynne V. Cheney, wife of Vice President Richard B. Cheney, and coauthor of six books on the importance of education and the teaching of history to our children. She met with more than 80 people here at the Museum at a private reception, which was followed by our Centennial Dinner at the Canandaigua Inn on the Lake where she was guest of honor and keynote speaker, speaking on "The Importance of Teaching History to our Children."
