Explores women's work roles both within and outside the home from the 1870s to the 1920s.

Contents:

User's manual including the following activities with appropriate artifacts or documents: Introduction and background information for teachers; introductory activities for students using village and town census and tally sheets; activities for women at work in the home, including documents, and artifacts (stove lid lifter, crazy quilt top, illustrations); activities for women at work outside the home, including documents and artifacts for domestic service, seamstress (nightgown and catalogue picture from 1920s), medical work (nurse's cap and photo); and office work (photo); teaching (documents, arithmetic book and photo), factory work (Liskware pitcher and photo); and concluding activities.
