The Ontario County Historical Society (OCHS) and the Ontario County Arts Council are excited to announce a free weeklong project for eight 4th-6th graders titled “Mini-Makers”. This program will allow participating children to make, and use, materials such as paper, ink, pens, and stamps like they were in the past. This four-day project (Tuesday August 17 – Friday August 20) will be hosted at the museum. Each day we will gather and be creative from 10 A.M. till noon.
Additionally, once students have had a chance to make their own art, it will be displayed in the museum as a mini-exhibit from August 27 – October 3. This exhibit will be free so that friends, family, and the community can observe what the participants learned and how each piece turned out.
Thanks to the sponsorship of numerous local businesses, 8 children will be able to participate at no cost. These local businesses have each given enough money to support 1 of the participants for the entirety of the project.
