Re: Small Treasurers Out of the Attic Fund Raiser – October 26
Live Auction Planned
We all have things our aunt, grandmother, mother passed down to us, that we really don’t know what to do with; or maybe you have downsized? Here is a good chance for you to put that piece you no longer need to good use.
Building on their success at the 2018 Art out of the Attic fund Raising event, The Ontario County Historical Society will add a twist and will hold a live auction on Saturday, October 26. This year the name has been modified to Small Treasurers Out of the Attic which reflects a change in items sought that will be put up for bid. It will be held at the Congregational Church on North Main Street in Canandaigua. Doors open at 2 PM. Food and beverage will be provided.
Donated Items Sought
The Society is asking the public to look through their closets, attics, and cellars to find objects no longer used or needed but for which someone else would give a loving home. Costume jewelry is a very popular item. They are also looking for items such as vintage dolls, china, jewelry, artwork, vintage toys and games, silver, crystal, stamps, vintage lamps, postcards, old maps, Ontario County memorabilia and more. Nothing bigger than 36” x 36” x 36” or more than 30 pounds can be accepted.
Drop Off Locations
Two drop off events for the public are planned: Saturday, July 27 at BID Office 115 S. Main Street Canandaigua from 11:00 AM – 2:00 PM; and on Saturday, August 3 and 10 from 10:00 – 4:00 at the Ontario County Historical Society, 55 N Main Street.
The money from these fundraisers will be used for museum operation and to keep our community history center admission free as it has been since 1999.
For questions on the event or an opinion on the appropriateness of items to be donated please contact David Hewson at the Ontario County Historical Society at (585) 394-4975 or at firstname.lastname@example.org he would be pleased to chat with you about it.
